Valley Brewers Celebrates First Anniversary in Solvang, CA
Book Signing and Pro-Am Home Brewers Competition are Among Events Offered
Santa Ynez Valley, California— The homebrew scene in Santa Barbara County has changed a lot over the past year. What was once a trek to other counties for homebrew supplies is now a breeze with the brew supply store, Valley Brewers, located in the heart of Solvang, California.
This past May marked Valley Brewers’ one year anniversary and they are still celebrating. “The response to our new business has been amazing.” says co-owner Sandy Harrison. “We’ve established a terrific customer base and expanded our Valley Brewers Home Brew Club.” Customers come as far as San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara to partake in club activities and store brew demonstrations.
How to Brew Book Signing
There have been many thrilling moments for owners Sandy Harrison and Chris Kelly. Perhaps the most exciting is the upcoming book signing they are hosting with author John Palmer of How to Brew: Everything You Need to Know to Brew Beer Right the First Time; the essential book for homebrewers. The signing will be held at the store on Saturday, September 14th from 12:00-4:00pm. Books will be on sale or you can bring your own. “This is a terrific opportunity to meet an icon in the homebrewing world,” says Harrison.
Pro-Am Home Brew Competition
For the second year in a row, Valley Brewers will be co-sponsoring the Pro-Am Competition in association with Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company’s Figtoberfest on October 5th from 11:00am to 6:00pm at Riverview Park in Buellton. Entries for the homebrew competition can be submitted to Valley Brewers from September 20th to 27th. The first entry costs $6 and each additional entry is $4. Valley Brewers is open Monday through Saturday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, Sunday from 10:00am to 4:00pm and closed on Tuesdays. They are located at 515 Fourth Place in Solvang, CA around the corner from multiple Santa Ynez Valley beer tasting venues.
