Green Man is on the move opening its new taproom, The Dweller, in a historic building in downtown Asheville, at 10 Market Street, just a block from the renown Thomas Wolfe home. Serving 12 Green Man brews on tap, the new location adds an extensive selection of specialty, rare beers and cider to their Flagship IPA, ESB, Porter, Trickster, Wayfarer and Lager.
To honor this historic location, Green Man continues their Green Mansion tradition of inspiring interior design by preserving original brick and oak flooring, while integrating modern industrial finishes with historic materials for a remarkable rustic elegance.
The locally owned and operated Green Man Brewery started in 1997 on Buxton Avenue and has been consistently recognized for internationally loved traditional English styles and creative versions of the newest craft trends. Green Man, the pioneer brewery of Asheville’s South Slope, and the oldest downtown brewery and tasting room, developed the first sour program in the area and has produced some of the Asheville beer scene’s most iconic ales for more than two decades.
Fast forward to almost twenty years later: In 2016, Green Man added the Green Mansion, a three-story, two-bar taproom with a state-of-the-art packaging operation that can be observed, along with the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, from their third story indoor/outdoor taproom.
The Green Man Myth, “one with nature,” is honored by making every effort for smart energy production, organic/transitional ingredients, and repurposing organic material left over from the beer making process for feeding animals and enriching the soil.
