AUSTIN, TX – Spring has sprung and so has Austin Beer Guide- into action, that is. The boys behind Austin’s greatest beer (or other) publication (by their own standards) are excited to deliver the Spring 2013 guide unto the world. Just as baby birds will soon be thrown from nest, so goes the ninth edition of ABG, this one bigger and better than ever!
In this issue our heroes tackle some of Austin’s newest craft beer bars in one of the photo-iest features ever. They check in on Will Golden’s brain (of Austin Beerworks), share a few pints with Davis Tucker of North by Northwest, pluck a few brewers for pale ale opinions, beer and loath the Cap Metro No. 3 bus route, and in a joint collaboration with Beer Pedaler Tony Drewry present the first ever DFW Beer Guide!
And in addition to these great features, Austin Beer Guide are tickled to reveal the guide’s new refresh treatment. They are very pleased with it and hope you will be too.
At this point, one may wonder if a release party is to serve a new guide or a new guide is to serve a release party? This party will be Thursday, March 21 6:30pm at Pinthouse Pizza.
Along with revealing the new guide, the ABG crew went head to head against the Pinthouse brewers in Austin’s (the world’s?) first #IRONBREW and will be releasing the beers for public and professional judgement at the party. Each team came up with their own original “pale ale” recipe with the same four malts and four hops, with each team adding their own wild card malt and hop. Come Thursday, thirsty readers can buy a ticket to sample each of the beers and get a complimentary Austin Beer Guide glass to keep.
Additionally there will be some special and rare releases from Austin Beerworks, Hops & Grain, Jester King, Real Ale, and Pinthouse on the tap wall that night.
Austin Beer Guide hope you can join them in celebrating the release of their best guide to date and in their soon to be #IRONBREW victory over the Pinthouse brewers!
