Local chefs and breweries team up to raise funds for hunger-relief programs
DENVER – Oct. 8, 2013 – Today Eat Boston and Denver Off The Wagon announced the second annual Denver Bacon & Beer Festival will take place on Nov. 10 from 2:30 – 5:00 p.m. at the EXDO Event Center.
“Last year was a blast and we’re looking forward to the second annual Denver Bacon & Beer festival to be bigger and better,” said Aaron Cohen, founder of Eat Boston. “The day will feature out of this world bacon delicacies and some of Colorado’s best craft beer. Hopefully we can raise a good amount of money for Metro CareRing and Project Angel Heart.”
Founded in Boston, the Bacon & Beer Festival has grown to Denver and San Francisco. In Boston, the annual event sells out in three minutes flat. Last year’s inaugural Denver Bacon & Beer Festival sold out a week before the event and brought 900 pounds of bacon, 25 chefs, 20 breweries and 800 people together to create the ultimate Sunday Funday. This year’s festival will be even larger featuring 25+ restaurants and 25+ breweries. Denver-area Whole Foods stores are supporting the event with a donation of American Homestead Bacon for the dishes.

“Bacon and beer were made for each other,” said PJ Hoberman, founder of Denver Off The Wagon. “Much like a pretzel necklace, bacon provides salt and texture that aides in clearing and coating the palate. Except that bacon is much more delicious than a pretzel can ever hope to be.”
Proceeds from the festival will benefit Project Angel Heart and Metro CareRing, two organizations working to provide hunger relief and nutritious meals in Denver.
The festival is open to adults 21 and older. Event tickets can be purchased online starting October 15 at 10 a.m. Mountain Standard Time for $45.
