IPA Rye Bread

Homemade IPA rye bread baked in the traditional German style. A small bit of Molasses is added to the recipe for a slight sweetness.

Ingredients

1.5 cup India pale ale (flat and at room temp)
  • 1.5 cups rye flour
  • 2.5 cups bread flour
  • 1 tsp gluten
  • 1 1/3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp molasses
  • 1.25 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 pkg bread yeast

  • Directions

    1. To make this IPA rye bread, place ingredients into the pan of the bread machine in the order suggested by the manufacturer. Select dough cycle, and start.
    2. After the first rise, remove dough from the machine. Shape, and place into a lightly oiled bowl. Cover, and let rise for 1 hour.
    3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45-50 minutes on preheated pizza stone. Spritz inside of oven and bread every 10 minutes with water. Remove from oven, and let cool before slicing.
    4. Makes a 2 pound loaf.
