Card Game Features Craft Breweries and Craft Beer
Thinking & Drinking, the card game created to foster conversation, has launched its Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.
Thinking & Drinking contains six decks of 54 cards, with each card including a question and the profile of a U.S. craft brewer and a featured beer. The goal is to showcase breweries and introduce players to beers that they might not yet know, said Jonathan Cooper, creator of Thinking & Drinking.
“Within the 312 breweries and beers featured in Thinking & Drinking there is a great representation of the craft beer community,” said Cooper. “Many of the featured beers are IPAs, though there are also beers featured that include a coconut porter, a maple bacon coffee porter, an oatmeal raisin cookie ale, and a jalepno porter. We left it open to the breweries to feature the beer that best represents who they are.”
Brewery profiles were open to all breweries that meet the Brewers Association’s definition of a craft brewery and were offered free of charge.
“The goal of our funding push through Kickstarter is to appeal to craft beer enthusiasts. We’d love to see Thinking & Drinking become a fixture in taprooms or tasting rooms,” said Cooper. “Craft beer is the centerpiece of conversation in taprooms and tasting rooms so we created Thinking & Drinking to be part of that, and to help foster it.”
Thinking & Drinking is available in single decks (54 cards) for $10; complete six deck sets (324 cards) for $30; and in Taproom Packs which include six complete sets of Thinking & Drinking for the price of five – $150.
As part of Thinking & Drinking’s Kickstarter campaign, there is also the opportunity for six breweries to order their own promotional version of Thinking & Drinking which would feature the brewery’s logo, branding and up to 10 selected beers in a printing of 54-card decks.
