Shmaltz Brewing Company’s Bock Bock®, 9.2% ABV Imperial American Bock Aged in Bourbon Barrels, A Beer Worth Crossing the Road For Now brewing exclusively in Clifton Park, NY — Wednesday, May 6, 2015 — Fusing Old World brewing traditions with bold, flavor-driven American ingenuity,Bock Bock® is a fine example of how Shmaltz Brewing Company continues to lift lagers to the creative heights that ales have enjoyed in the American craft beer movement. Brewed with oatmeal and rye, and emerging from the barrel softened and silky, Bock Bock® is a burly Imperial American Bock aged many months in Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, and Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Available in 22oz bottles and a limited amount of draft at select bars throughout the month of May 2015, Bock Bock® is a brand new very special release that’s sure to be highly coveted.

“Barrel-aged Bock Bock gains its toasty, rich malt body and nutty caramel flavor from distinctive European malts, such as Vienna, Munich and Crystal, to make a traditional bock base,” said Shmaltz Brewing Company’s Lead Brewer Richie Saunders. “This malty libation was aged for many months in hand selected Jim Beam, Heaven Hill, and Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels. Bock Bock pours a robust copper with a creamy off-white head. The richness of the European malts is softened by the delicate mix of bourbon, and gives an aromatic sturdiness balanced by light vanilla notes, charred wood, warm caramel, toffee and bourbon soaked raisin and dark fruits on the finish. Bock Bock is craft beer comfort for a new generation!”

Bock Bock® is the latest Limited Engagement in the brewery’s award-winning Barrel-Aged Series. Not only does the series represent some of Shmaltz’s most decorated beers, but it also boasts the highest consumer ratings from BeerAdvocate.com and RateBeer.com. The latter ranked Shmaltz Brewing as one of the “Top 100 Breweries in the World” in 2013. With the release of Bock Bock®, Shmaltz continues to design sophisticated beers that rank with the world’s best specialty libations.
