Creature Comforts To Release Double IPA Spring Seasonal This March

Creature Comforts Brewing Company is bringing back seasonal release Cosmik Debris this March. For the first time, consumers will be able to enjoy Cosmik Debris in cans as it was previously only offered on draft. Cosmik Debris is the brewery’s second seasonal beer to be packaged in cans for release.

“Cosmik Debris is a modern take on a Double IPA that features more than five-and-a-half pounds of hops per barrel,” said Co-Founder and Brewmaster Adam Beauchamp. “The beer is released in March because the freshest and most choice hops are made available to brewers typically around February.”

The Double IPA comes in at 8.0 percent ABV and features Simcoe, Idaho 7, Mosaic, Cascade and Eureka hops, which together develop an assertive aroma of citrus zest, melon and subtle pine. The brew delivers a beautiful balance between firm bitterness and malt with notes of starfruit and orange marmalade on the palate.

“We have kept the malt bill very simple and restrained in order to allow the intense flavor and aroma of the beautiful Pacific-Northwestern hops to shine through,” said Beauchamp. “This year we’ve made a few tweaks to the recipe and process to really encourage a bursting aroma. We’ve introduced the new hop Idaho 7 into the mix, which adds an extremely unique, ripe, and tropical fruit flavor.”

Once again, Creature Comforts collaborated with a local artist in order to design the new can label. The brewery provided the artist the inspiration behind the brew, as well as the flavor and aroma notes and granted him creative freedom. The result was a can design with a galactic scene featuring mystic “hop creatures”.

Beauchamp advises consumers, “Cosmik should always be consumed as fresh as possible. Allowing it to age would dissipate the brilliant, fresh aroma that we’ve worked to infuse into the beer.”

The seasonal release will be available in the Atlanta and Athens markets as well as at the brewery for on- site tours and tastings. For more information about Creature Comforts Brewing Company visit www.creaturecomfortsbeer.com.
