Madison, Ala. – Blue Pants Brewery of Madison, Alabama was awarded a bronze award in the Historical beer style category for its Dortmunder Adambier at the 2016 World Beer Cup, a global beer competition that evaluates beers from around the world and recognizes the most outstanding brewers and their beers.
As Alabama’s premier craft beer distributer, Alabev is proud to carry beers from Blue Pants Brewery and congratulates them on their continued success.
“All of us at AlaBev send huge congratulations to our friends at Blue Pants Brewery,” stated Harry Kampakis, owner of Alabev. “Thanks to award-winning breweries like Blue Pants, the craft beer scene in Alabama is booming more than we could have ever imagined. AlaBev is honored to partner with passionate local brewers and is proud to distribute their award-winning beers to the public.”
Blue Pants Brewery’s Dortmunder Adambier is a dark-amber-colored, smoky, complex beer. The beer previously won a silver medal at the Great American Brew Festival.
“As the owner, it makes me really proud to see all our emphasis on brewing the best beer possible pay off and so quickly,” said Michael Spratley, owner at Blue Pants Brewery. “I’m proud of Weedy (Derek Weidenthal) and the whole brew team and ecstatic that they can bring awesome beer ideas to the table like this one. I remember Weedy texting the idea to me while he was in Germany and I’ve learned when Weedy is passionate about an idea, just get out of the way and try to make sure he can bring it to fruition.”
