Whirlpool Corporation’s Vessi Beer Fermentor and Dispenser, which aims to make the homebrewing process a little quicker and a little more efficient, is one step closer to becoming a reality on the market — and in your kitchen (or wherever your significant other will let you put it).
The luxury-end homebrew appliance ferments, carbonates and dispenses your beer all from the same container. Designers at W Labs say the single tank will help reduce some of the hurdles homebrewers face using separate vessels throughout the brewing process. The creators also say your beer will be ready to drink in as little as seven days, particularly if you’re brewing something like a low-alcohol blonde ale.
The Indiegogo campaign launched on May 31 and reached its $100,000 funding goal in just one week. Reps say that means the Vessi should be delivered to early crowdfunding supporters by the holidays.
There are more than 1.2 million homebrewers in the U.S. according to the most recent stats from the Homebrewers Association. Collectively, they produce more than 2 million barrels of beer each year.
The Indiegogo campaign will be active through the end of June.
