Baton Rouge, La., June 8, 2016—Summer is upon us, and we’re celebrating our hottest season the most appropriate way we know how: drinking cold beer. Tin Roof Brewing Company is partnering with Roux 61 and Frankie’s Dawg House to celebrate the release of their seasonal Not Too Sweet Watermelon Wheat.
The entire community is invited to join Tin Roof Brewing Company at their tap room on Saturday, June 18, for the Watermelon Wheat Picnic. There will be a corn hole tournament, fried fish from Roux 61 from 1-4 pm, gourmet hot dogs from Frankie’s Dawg House from 4-7 pm, and Tin Roof’s newest brew.
“Louisiana is known for its sweltering summers,” said Rivers Hughey, Director of Marketing and Special Event at Tin Roof. “Watermelon Wheat manages to be refreshing, with just a hint of watermelon, so it isn’t overly sweet. Plus, what says picnic like fried fish and hot dogs?”
Not Too Sweet Watermelon Wheat has a noticeable watermelon aroma, but the actual flavor of the fruit is mild and balanced. The beer, that comes in at 5% ABV, is perfect for Louisiana’s hot Southern summers.
“The corn hole hole tournament will happen simultaneously with the release. Teams of two will play against each other in a double elimination tournament starting at 2 pm,” said Hughey. “It’s $15 per team and they get really cool Tin Roof mason jar glasses.”
