After years of searching, Russian River Brewing Co. has selected and closed escrow on a new property to allow expansion. The new brewery will be built on a 15-acre plot of land in southern Windsor, California, increasing the company’s production capacity to 50,000 barrels, as compared to a combined effort of 16,000 barrels between their two current breweries.

“The Windsor brewery will take us to 25,000-30,000 barrels initially with the ability to grow organically as we like to do,” explains co-owner Natalie Cilurzo. “This will allow us more flexibility with taking on some new accounts and markets in California and providing more beer to our current wholesalers and their customers.”

The new location will include a larger brewpub with lots of outside seating, including a pet-friendly area, a new food menu and free and ample parking.

“The final straw in making this decision was seeing how incredibly busy our brewpub has become. [It’s] Uncomfortably busy at times,” explained Cilurzo. “We don’t love seeing the long lines out the door every weekend. And it is a bummer running into old customers around town who just can’t get in anymore. So nothing will change at our Santa Rosa pub, other than we hope to relieve some pressure and see some of our old customers come back!”

The new Windsor location will usher in many other great features including a tasting room for you to make quick purchases to-go, guided and self-guided brewery tours and what owners call a “real gift shop.”

Russian River Brewing Co. plans to break ground spring 2017 with completion aimed for summer 2018.
