COVINGTON, KY [08/16] – Braxton Brewing Company will soon be available in Lexington, Kentucky. The Covington-based brewery will be launching their Lexington presence on Wednesday, August 24th at Pazzo’s Pizza Pub with a tap takeover, live music, giveaways and more.
“We’re incredibly excited to open distribution in Lexington as we near our goal of distributing statewide by the end of the year,” said Jake Rouse, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-Founder & CEO. “Between our launch events, and Storm Golden Cream Ale at Keeneland this Fall Race Meet, I couldn’t be more excited to Lift One to Life in Lexington!”
Braxton Brewing Company has partnered with Clark Distributing to take their can and draft distribution to Lexington.
“Braxton Brewing Company represents a unique opportunity for Clark Distributing Company. Their products will be well received by consumers throughout our coverage area,” said Cameron Clark, Vice President of Clark Distributing Co. “Central Kentucky enjoys high quality, great tasting craft beer, and we are very pleased to have been chosen by the Braxton team to be their local distributor.”
Braxton Drive celebrates the company’s path to expanding distribution while paying homage to where the story began, in the garage on Braxton Drive in Union, Kentucky. To kickoff the Lexington market, Braxton Brewing Company is hosting a series of launch parties with the Braxton Drive theme.
The Braxton Drive events are listed below:

Simply take a picture of a Braxton beer and share it on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, tag the brewery, and use the #BraxtonDrive hashtag. A winner will be randomly selected on September 18th.
The launch into Lexington is the next step in what has been rapid growth for the brewery. Since opening in March of 2015, the brewery’s fermentation capacity has increased by 500%. Braxton brewed 2,000 barrels in 2015 and is on track to brew over 7,500 barrels in 2016. Beer Advocate named Braxton Brewing Co. one of the Top 33 New Breweries nationwide in 2015.
The brewery will be sending their core styles — Storm Golden Cream Ale, Crank Shaft IPA, Twisted Bit Dortmunder Lager, and Dead Blow Tropical Stout — to Lexington along with beers from their Garage Series and Heritage Series.
Storm, Crank Shaft and Oktober Fuel — the company’s Oktoberfest Lager — will be available in cans while the rest of the portfolio is available on draft.
“Opening distribution in Lexington is something we have wanted to do from the start,” said Evan Rouse, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-Founder and Head Brewer. “It’s exciting that we get to roll out distribution with Oktober Fuel as well. This seasonal lager is just in time for fall.”
Braxton Brewing Company was born in a garage on Braxton Drive in Union, Kentucky. Head Brewer Evan Rouse tinkered, innovated, created, and brewed in that garage. Now, that creativity and passion continues in our Garage Series of beers.
“The Garage Series represents our complete commitment to quality and the innovative thinking of our entire team,” said Greg Rouse, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-Founder & COO. “We take a lot of pride in the variety of beers that we bring to market. Innovation, attention-to-detail and passion are key ingredients that we put into every beer that we brew, and we are excited that the time has come to share our efforts with the fine city of Lexington.”
The Heritage Series will introduce special releases into the Lexington market. These beers are inspired by the region’s history and heritage. Most recently, the brewery released Union Rouge, Union Blanc and Union Bleu — a series of wine barrel-aged saisons.
Braxton Brewing Company opened in March of 2015. Prior to opening their doors on West 7th Street in Covington, Kentucky, the brewing company executed a record-setting Kickstarter Campaign raising over $70,000.
Since opening, the success has continued. The brewery won Brewbound’s Startup Brewery Challenge and collaborated with Widmer Brothers in Portland, Oregon. Locally, Braxton has won 10 medals at Alltech’s Commonwealth Cup including a 2015 Gold Medal with Crank Shaft IPA — one of three beers available in cans. At the 2016 Derby City Brewfest, the brewing company won Best Barrel-Aged Beer and Best of Show with their Bourbon Barrel-Aged Strong Scotch Ale, Lumber.
“We have been thinking about Lexington for a long time. The timing is perfect to share our unique offerings with Lexington’s craft beer connoisseurs,” said Richard Dubé, Braxton Brewing Co. Co-founder and Brewmaster. “We can’t wait to meet them, and Lift one to Life together.”
