Cape May Brewing Company is celebrating their sixth anniversary with a killer party. On Friday, July 7 from 4 to 10 p.m., CMBC will kick up their heels with Good Libations, a beach-themed bash!
Founded in 2011, Cape May Brewing Company started with three guys brewing one beer twelve gallons at a time in a 1,500 square-foot space at the Cape May County Airport. Now, the company boasts over 150 brews in their lineup, being brewed by a company with 56+ employees in a space occupying 23,000 square feet, still at the Cape May Airport.

To celebrate their achievements, members of the CMBC Brew Crew will be poised in a Dunk Tank, each throw raising money for Bike MS: City to Shore. Each year, CMBC sponsors a team in this race which sees participants biking 180 miles from Cherry Hill to Ocean City, through the back roads of South Jersey and the blueberry fields of Hammonton. The Dunk Tank at Good Libations is CMBC’s chance to raise even more money for this worthy cause.
In honor of their sixth anniversary, CMBC will have six special one-off brews: three from each of the three founders and three from the production team. CMBC president and co-founder Ryan Krill created a Hopped-Up Wheat Ale with Amarillo, Simcoe, and Citra hops. Vice-president and co-founder Bob Krill concocted a lemon shandy, and co-founder Chris Henke devised a brew with cucumber and lime. On the production side, they’ve prepared a beer with strawberry, lime, and sea salt; one with rose and hibiscus tea, and one with coconut and pineapple.
In addition, CMBC will be tapping an extremely rare keg of the newest release in their highly-acclaimed Barrel Aged Series, Brothel Madam. Aged for several months in oak barrels, Brothel Madam was fermented with Brett for a few months in stainless steel, then another five months with raspberries and cranberries. The result is a delicious sour brew with bright acidity, a firm and rustic funk, and a rich luscious finish.

Furthermore, revelers will get to sample CMBC’s Anniversary Ale 6.0 — the latest in their quarterly Double IPA series. This year, they’ve created a hoppy, juicy, and crushable brew — a ridiculously drinkable Double IPA with generous hot-side additions of Nelson Sauvin and Zythos and a double four-pounds-per-barrel dry-hopping of Nelson Sauvin, Citra, and Eukanot. The heavy-handed portion of wheat and oats give Anniversary Ale 6.0 a soft, pillowy body with a restrained bitterness and rich and enticing aroma. With notes of pineapple, melon, and ripened stone fruits on the nose and a subtle citrus zest on the finish, Anniversary Ale is the ideal brew to toast in honor of CMBC’s 6th anniversary.
CMBC has partnered with Cape May Brew Tours to provide a free shuttle service to and from Cape May. From 2 to 9pm, the shuttle will be making stops at the Trolley Stop at the MAC Booth on Washington Street Mall on the hour, at Wilbraham Park in W. Cape May on the quarter-hour, and at CMBC every quarter-of.
