In Dark Charge, Braxton Brewing Company has brewed a stout bold enough to light a city. The Covington-based brewery is excited to bring the community, city and region together for its Winter Block Party.
“The first Saturday in December has quickly become our favorite day of the year, and this year is no different!” said Jake Rouse, Co-Founder & CEO. “Our brewing team has put together some of the most unique flavors of Dark Charge imaginable, and with guest taps from over 16 participating breweries featuring some of the most amazing barrel aged beers, it’s truly a representation of the growth in the craft community!”
In addition to the bottle release inside the taproom, the brewery will have live music, pour guest taps, tap rare Braxton beers and host a variety of food partners serving food inspired by the Imperial Stout in a heated tent on 7th Street.
Coppin’s at Hotel Covington, Smoke Justis, Wunderbar, Flipdaddy’s Burgers & Beers, Molly Malone’s Irish Pub, Amerasia and Graeter’s Ice Cream will all have Dark Charge infused or inspired menu items available to purchase throughout the event.
Braxton Brewing Company will have Bourbon Barrel-Aged Dark Charge and its variants on tap throughout the day. To celebrate the craft beer community, the brewery has also invited guest breweries to pour their own barrel-aged products. Barrel-Aged beers will be available from: Against the Grain, West 6th, New Belgium, Dogfish Head, Oskar Blues, MadTree, Rhinegeist, Ballast Point, Avery Brewing, The Bruery, Country Boy, Sweetwater, Cigar City, 50 West, Lagunitas and Urban Artifact.
Live music will begin at 12pm and keep the party going through 11pm. Floyd & The Walkmen, The Hot Magnolias, Noah Smith and 500 Miles to Memphis will take the stage throughout the day.
