Engaged couples who are craft beer lovers, this is the wedding venue you (and your savings account) have been waiting to find. Milwaukee’s Lakefront Brewing is offering couples free wedding ceremonies and vow renewals on Valentine’s Day.
For all of you not currently planning a wedding, let me catch you up on what an absolute steal Lakefront’s free wedding offer is. The average cost of a wedding in 2016 was an astounding $35,329, according to a survey from The Knot. Yeah — take in that number again — $35K. Ouch.

Brewery weddings are growing in popularity, as CraftBeer.com’s Shawndra Russell reports in 9 Venues That Prove You Can’t Beat a Brewery Wedding. Lakefront Brewing’s Tour Co-Manager Dylan Marzurkiewicz agrees. The brewery has offered free Valentine’s Day weddings for more than a decade.
“So many couples met, or had their first date on, our award-winning tour, went on a second date to our award-winning fish fry and got engaged at our award-winning bottling line. Over the last 15 years, many of those folks got married here.”
Lakefront is taking care of some of the biggest hassles of planning a wedding. Not only do they have two intimate venues pre-decorated for the ceremony (Saving on decorations: check), six of the brewery’s tour guides have been ordained and will be officiating the ceremonies (Finding an officiant: check). And if you’re one of the first 10 couples to sign up, you’ll get a wedding bouquet (Flowers: check).
Lakefront’s free Valentine’s Day weddings offer a ton more awesome perks:
- Two free pints of beer
- A six-pack to take home
- Two Lakefront Brewery t-shirts
- Two Lakefront Brewery cookies
- Engraved pint glasses (by request)
- Professional photography session (by request)
Beyond weddings, Lakefront will also hold mass vow renewals on Valentine’s Day from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Lakefront Owner and President, Russ Klisch, will preside over the renewals. Bonus: You can do it with a craft beer in your hand.

All couples have to be at least 21-years-old and have a marriage license before the Feb. 14, 2018 ceremony. You also have to book ahead and let them know you’ll be there. Give Lakefront a call at 414-292-0801. Marzurkiewicz says he’s already heard from one California couple who plans to fly in for the ceremony!
There’s so much to say “I do” to here! Cheers to love, and the love of small and independent brewing.
