August 6 is National IPA day, a celebration launched in 2011 meant to honor the most popular craft beer style in America, and Cape May Brewing Company is participating in the national party.
Beginning at noon on Thursday, CMBC will tap a special firkin of the Take Five Session IPA, which has been infused with extra hops and citrus, as well as a special pin of the award-winning Coastal Evacuation Imperial IPA that’s been brewed with extra Amarillo hops for a more flowery, citrusy, spicy flavor.
Also available will be a one-time release of Cape May IPA, the brewery’s flagship beer, that’s been made with the addition of locally-grown wet (or fresh-off-the-vine) hops, in addition to the preserved hops typical for such a beer.
Finally, CMBC will also re-release its Poverty Beach IPA, the bold but easy-drinking Belgian Ale that hasn’t been on tap since July of 2014.
For more information, tune into WPG Talk Radio 1450 AM on Friday August 7 at 1:30PM to hear CMBC President Ryan Krill discussing all things IPA on International Beer Day with host Michelle Dawn Mooney. Or visit capemaybrewery.com.
About Cape May Brewing Company:
Once upon a time, twenty-something Ryan Krill earned a six-figure salary working in finance and real estate development in Manhattan, while his college roommate, Chris Henke, designed satellites. During a summer weekend at the Jersey shore, they brewed a batch of beer with Ryan’s dad that wasn’t half bad. “Should we open a brewery?” Ryan asked, only half-serious. But, by the following year, the three guys had secured a space at Cape May Airport where they concocted a makeshift brew system and honed their beer-making skills. In 2011, they started with one client. Today, there are over 360+ accounts in Jersey and Pennsylvania proudly serving the guys’ award-winning recipes. And CMBC’s fearless leaders have never looked back.
