The latest release by Evolution Craft Brewing Co. comes just in time for summer, offering a refreshingly clean and crisp taste that pairs well with many of the backyard barbecue staples that have become signatures of the Eastern Shore.
Dubbed “DelMarVa Pure Pils,” the new brew will debut on June 10 in the Evolution taproom in Salisbury, Maryland, with a wide release across the peninsula slated for July 1.
In developing DelMarVa Pure Pils, the award-winning brewers at Evolution sought to craft a supremely sessionable Eastern Shore take on the traditional Czech-style pilsner. The beer is golden in color, with floral and citrus zest hop characteristics that come from German Saphir and Opal hops, producing a crisp and delicate flavor with a dry finish.
Each beer brewed by Evolution is designed to pair well with food, and the latest release is no exception. The new pilsner goes well with steamed crabs and grilled seafood, as well as fried chicken, making it a perfect addition to summer. It also pairs with mild cheeses and salads, as well as Asian, Mexican and other spicy cuisines.
DelMarVa Pure Pils, like every Evo beer, is brewed with the unfiltered, crystal-clear water found in its well. Formerly used by the old Salisbury ice plant, the water has been a trusted source since the 1920’s and requires no stripping or additional treatment, unlike many other water sources. Like the old saying goes, great water makes great beer.
The end result is a highly sessionable, 4.8 percent ABV, 30 IBU beer that should satisfy both the seasoned craft-beer palate, and newcomers who are just dipping their taste buds in the world of craft beer for the first time.
Whether you’re cooking out in the backyard, attending an outdoor concert or relaxing on the beach, DelMarVa Pure Pils is guaranteed to make any Eastern Shore adventure “ever-better.”
