Buellton, California— Collaborating on a new beer is a thrill for craft brewers who get an opportunity to learn from other brewers, experiment and have a good time with industry friends. California breweries, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company from Buellton and Ironfire Brewing Company from Temecula, recently collaborated on a new beer called “Grape Escape” which will debut in Ironfire’s taproom located at 42095 Zevo Drive #1 in Temecula, California as well as select retailers on November 5, 2015. The collaboration beer is a Grape India Pale Ale utilizing wine must from both the Temecula viticultural region and the Santa Ynez Valley. This aggressively hopped IPA comes in at 6.5% alcohol by volume. The hops utilized are a blend of new school hops like Apollo and Caliente as well as many New Zealand Varietals such as Nelson Sauvin, Motueka and Dr. Rudi.
“Brewing with Ironfire was great. Greg, John and Alec are tried and true brewers with awesome San Diego pedigrees,” exclaims Kevin Ashford, Head Brewer of Figueroa Mountain’s Santa Barbara brewery. “Their focus and attention to hop character was a breath of fresh air for David [Traille, Head Brewer of Arroyo Grande] and I who are typically used to brewing the classics. Working with Ironfire exposed us to some hops that we have never used before.” Kevin and David thoroughly enjoyed their time brewing with Ironfire and are looking forward to using some of the new hops in future Fig brews.
