The printing press. The automobile. all those sausages. The Germans have given us many wonderful things over the years, but we’d put their beers at the top of that list. So consider this Oktoberfest Bavarian Lager a small tribute to our stein-swinging friends. Naturally, we’ve put our own spin on things, creating a Märzen-style lager whose body, maltiness and subtle caramel flavor set it apart. Danke, Deutschland.

Beer Description: Rich and malty without sacrificing any of the smooth, crisp character that defines true German lagers, Upland Oktoberfest is an authentic representation of a classic style. Dark amber in color, a lightly toasted malt character is complemented with notes of caramel and toffee. A blend of three German hop varieties provides perfect balance and a clean finish to this Autumnal favorite.

About the Brewery: Located in Bloomington, Indiana, Upland’s rich history dates all the way back to 1998. Taking traditional recipes and making them a bit more awesome, Upland Brewing Co. came up with their own recipes rooted with inspiration from good beer and good friends, providing a fresh local option to their communities. The name Upland comes from the term geologists gave to this area of Southern Indiana land which was never overrun by the glaciers that flattened much of Indiana’s landscape. The adversity of the land bred independent thinkers who had strong wills, a connection to the land, and a wry sense of humor about life. Upland’s approach to brewing beer honors the spirit of these people and this place.
