Evolution Craft Brewing Co. in Salisbury, Maryland recently introduced its Nitro Rise Up Coffee Stout on draft in kicking off DC Beer Week, Sept. 24 through Oct. 1. Initially only available in the tasting room at the brewery, it can now be found on draft throughout the mid-Atlantic.
Nitro Rise Up Coffee Stout is Evolution’s Caribbean-style stout, offering a strong, full-bodied taste that’s infused with local coffee. Cascading to a rich and creamy, toasted, dark-brown head, this well-balanced brew features roasted malt and coffee flavors.
The Rise Up Stout is conditioned on beans that are roasted locally at Rise Up Coffee in Easton, Maryland, imparting a generous, but balanced coffee nose and flavor. It pairs well with brunch, breakfast for dinner, black forest cake, espresso-crusted grilled meats, and chocolates, and lists as 6.7 percent ABV and 40 IBUs.
The addition of nitrogen creates a creamier, smoother mouth feel that highlights the richness of the malts, as opposed to CO²-fed beers that are more aggressive and hop-forward. The appearance of the beer is also noticeably thicker, bringing a virtual waterfall of bubbly carbonation that’s topped off with a frothy, white head.
Arriving just in time for the fall and winter weather, be sure to ask for Evolution’s Nitro Rise Up on draft at your favorite restaurant, pub or tap house.
