Prost to Fall! You will soon be able to lift Braxton Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest Lager — Oktober Fuel — to life. The Covington-based brewery is launching their first seasonal can beginning in August.
“From day one we’ve committed to brewing lagers the right way, and with the popularity of the style last year, we couldn’t be more excited about getting it into cans!” said Jake Rouse, Co-Founder & CEO of Braxton Brewing Co. “Developing this beer over the course of 32 days is something special, and you’ll be able to experience that in a bigger way this fall with each can!”
The 6-pack 12 oz. cans will be available at select retailers and liquor stores across the brewing company’s distribution network.
This is the second time Braxton Brewing Company has brewed Oktober Fuel following up on the popularity of last year’s edition. This traditional Oktoberfest style lager is brewed using the finest German malts, decoction mashing and noble hops. It has an aroma that is dominated by complex malt characteristics including bread, biscuit and slight toast. It is light amber to dark orange in color, with a beautiful, long lasting off-white head.
“Our brewing team has extensive lagering experience and a passion for the Oktoberfest style,” said Evan Rouse, Braxton Brewing Company Co-Founder and Head Brewer. “We’ve taken that knowledge and passion and poured it into this recipe. The results are tremendous and we can’t wait to get more ‘Fuel’ in more hands this Fall.”
The cans will be available beginning in August but the brewery will be delaying the tapping of the beer on draft to better align with the Oktoberfest tradition that Cincinnati so proudly celebrates. Braxton Brewing Company will tap Oktober Fuel on draft with a traditional German Party on Friday, August 26th. The event will feature traditional German food, a German band, a stein hoisting competition and more.
Helping bring this brand to life, Braxton Brewing Co. has worked with Durham Brand & Co. to create its seasonal can design.
“Utilizing the existing badge, we wanted to simplify and streamline a design system that plays well with Braxton’s existing core offerings, but stands alone in its architecture,” said Austin Dunbar, Durham Brand & Co. Founder. “We’re excited for this first canned Seasonal and looking forward to rolling out more in the future!”
Oktober Fuel cans will become available in the Braxton Brewing Company taproom on Tuesday, August 2nd.
