San Diego, CA — June 28th, 2016 KARL’s impressive medal run continued in June with the brewery picking up medals in regional and international beer competitions.
Red Trolley, one of the most decorated craft beers of all time, earned two more medals during the month. The first came from China as the iconic beer won gold at the Shanghai International Beer Festival. Red Trolley went on to win silver in the California Commercial Craft Beer Competition. These two medals take Red Trolley to 22 medals won since the brewery started entering competitions in 2009.
The brewery also won gold for their Bavarian Hefeweizen, Windansea Wheat, in the California Commercial Craft Beer Competition. Windansea also placed third overall in the competition for the “best of show” beer.
“We are honored to get recognized by our peers in the industry. California is a great state for craft beer, and to continue winning medals here and abroad is a testament to the talent of our brewing and production team.” –Matt Johnson, Karl Strauss Brewmaster.
Karl Strauss has now racked up 95 (brewing) medal wins in major beer competitions in just the last six years.
Beyond these wins in noteworthy beer competitions, Karl Strauss recently won another Gold Medallion award for “best microbrewery” as voted by peers in the San Diego chapter of the California Restaurant Association.
