Tulsa, OK – Marshall Brewing Company, Tulsa’s original craft brewery, announces the completion of their Biergarten and grand opening to the public Friday, April 26th at 1742 E. 6th Street, Tulsa, OK. The large outdoor Biergarten or “beer garden” in English, features an outdoor stage for live entertainment, a lush lawn for games, and communal seating areas for sharing a beer with friends or making new friends. The Biergarten is situated just to the south of The Taproom at Marshall Brewing Co. and offers parking on its southern boundary on 7th Street. Patrons can move freely between the Taproom and Biergarten and both have access to food trucks. The Biergarten is open to all ages (21 and over to purchase and consumer beer) and dog-friendly.
The origin of the Biergarten dates back to the early 19th century in Bavaria, where Brewmaster Eric Marshall learned the craft of Brewing at the prestigious World Brewing Academy. “It has been a dream of mine to offer our city an outdoor space inspired by the long standing German tradition of the Biergarten, ” explained Marshall’s founder and brewmaster, Eric Marshall. “The Germans have made famous the practice of enjoying beer at long wooden tables outdoors, we look to take the experience to the next level blending craft beer and friendliness of Oklahomans.”
Marking the grand opening of of the Biergarten will be the 2019 release of Klaus Hefeweizen. Klaus is a German-style Hefeweizen named for the patriarch of Brewmaster Eric Marshall’s host family while studying and apprenticing in Germany. A creamy head offers aromas of banana and bubblegum created by the traditional German ale yeast used during fermentation. This yeast is left in the beer to both provide flavor and the cloudiness typical of a German-style wheat beer. Following the aroma, Klaus features a medium body and a light sweetness on the palate to create a refreshing and effervescent session beer. In addition to Klaus, available to patrons will be the traditional offerings of the German Biergarten, Helles (This Land Lager) and Dunkel Lager as well as over 24 options available from the Taproom at Marshall Brewing.
In addition to the release of Klaus Hefeweizen, local musician Dennis Roper will christen the outdoor stage starting at 6:00 p.m. Mangiamo! food truck will be onsite from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. offering delicious Italian-inspired dishes. Prost!
