SANDPOINT, IDAHO- MickDuff’s Brewing Company from Sandpoint, Idaho claimed Silver and Bronze medals in the 2015 North American Beer Awards (NABA) in Idaho Falls, Idaho on June 4th. Judges awarded a Silver Medal for the Mashing Pumpkins in the Pumpkin Beer category and a Bronze Medal for the Irish Redhead in the Irish-Style Red Ale category, making it a two-time winner.
“I’m very excited to have won two medals, it’s a great honor,” said Head Brewer, Mickey Mahoney. “The North American Beer Awards is a great beer competition with a stellar group of judges so to be awarded even just one medal is a great feat and two is like a dream.”
The NABA and MickDuff’s go back a number of years. Since 2010, MickDuff’s has take home several medals: Gold Medal in 2010, as well as a Silver in 2012 and 2013, for the Strom Hammer IPA in the English-Style India Pale Ale category, Gold Medal in 2012 for the Tipsy Toehead Blonde Ale in the Light Ale category, Gold Medal for the Irish Redhead in the Irish-Style red Ale category, and Bronze Medal in 2011 for our Knot Tree Porter in the Robust Porter category.
MickDuff’s Brewing Co. recently took another step in their continuous growth by trading in their 7 BBL Brewery for a 20 BBL Brewery. Over the last two years, they acquired numerous 15-20 BBL fermenters and in May of 2015, decommissioned their original brewhouse and made room for new equipment. After entering in distribution with the Odom Corporation with the Northern 5 Counties of Idaho and much of Eastern Washington, they’ve seen their draft-only craft beer brand start to flourish. You can expect to see many more of their taps at restaurants, bars and anywhere craft beer is supported with 5 year-round offerings.
