SANDPOINT, IDAHO- MickDuff’s Brewing Company of Sandpoint, Idaho sits less than 70 miles from the Canadian border. Recently, they took on a natural fitting slogan; Naturally North Ales. The slogan comes naturally to the brewpub, fitting not only the geographic location but also their operations in many ways: brewing principles, business practices and food menu products.
“We’ve always had a focus on natural when it comes to beer,” said Head Brewer Mickey Mahoney. “Every beer we make is unfiltered, unpasteurized, free of chemical preservatives and unnecessary additives. We will not compromise the naturalness of our craft beer and the slogan is one example of our commitment to that.”
Beer isn’t the only place MickDuff’s Brewing Co. folds in natural and sustainable causes into their business mix.
“All natural food products are very important for our pub. Our food fare is high grade, all-natural and we try to source locally as much as we can,” said General Manager Duffy Mahoney. He went on to comment, “we purchase biodegradable plastic bags, ramekins and straws, as well as purchase wind energy to help offset and reduce our carbon footprint as much as we can.”
Naturally North Ales was born in the fall of 2013 by one of MickDuff’s staff members and is currently featured on keg stickers. It is likely you will see this slogan on future merchandise such as t-shirts and other marketing materials.
