National Accounts Manager Job Available at Heavy Seas Beer

We are seeking a National Accounts Manager to develop, guide and maintain strong business relationships with major chain customers throughout our distribution footprint as well as explore international sales opportunities. This is to be accomplished by creating innovative and practical plans that increase brand awareness and distribution in the on / off premise retail markets. The position will involve working closely with our sales manager, marketing manager, territory managers and distributor personnel. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the beer industry with a focus on chain communication and presentations.

Key Responsibilities          

  • Responsible for national accounts revenue growth, profitability and building distributor partnership, brand image and market development
  • Develop and execute account strategies in accordance with overall channel strategy
  • Develop chain account goals and business plans with territory managers and distributor network
  • Ensure plan execution and facilitation throughout distribution network
  • Provide support and input to the development and communication of pricing programs
  • Conduct regular meetings with identified customer channels focused on customer satisfaction and revenue growth
  • Communicate regularly with Territory Managers to maximize selling opportunities within their territories
  • Disseminate information to the field ensuring product knowledge, initiatives and trends are up to date
  • Implement approved marketing and sales strategies at the wholesale and retail level while adhering to company policies and procedures
  • Must possess the ability to consistently deal with ever-changing conditions and follow differing procedures established by each chain customer
  • Problem-solving, negotiating, and people management skills are a must
  • Candidate must have a passion for craft beer as well as being well-connected to the craft brewing community and marketplace
  • Candidate must be prepared to handle non-alcoholic/food items that may become part of the Heavy Seas portfolio in the future

Requirements:

Education – Bachelor’s degree or equal equivalent of professional experience.

Experience – 5 years of related national account sales growth experience and/or training. Experience in sales data collection and analysis. Previous retail experience is a plus.

Certifications and Licenses – A valid state driver’s license is required and must be maintained throughout employment period with Heavy Seas.

Computer skills – Candidate must have proven computer skills and be proficient in Excel, Word and Microsoft Outlook.

Alcohol Responsibility – The candidate must fully understand that they are a representative not only of Heavy Seas but of the alcohol beverage industry. With that said they are to conduct themselves within the limits of the law and with concern to the education of responsible consumption at all times. This includes working hours, trade shows, festivals and while entertaining in the name of Heavy Seas. Any poor reflection or legal matters that may arise due to poor judgment may be dealt with by termination.

*Candidate must be able to and available for weekend work as needed; travel is required.
