Pelican Brewing Company last night scored more ‘bling’ winning double Gold and double Bronze medal honors at the North American Beer Awards. Pelican’s award-winning royalty Queen of Hearts, which recently won Gold at the 2018 World Beer Cup, captured yet another Gold in the barrel-aged category. The brewery’s beloved flagship beer, Kiwanda Cream Ale, continues its highly-decorated run winning Gold in the Golden or Blonde Ale category.
Pelican’s Sea N Red took a bronze medal in the Irish-Style Red Ale category and A Bockwork Orange was also honored with bronze for Weizenbocks.
The North American Beer Awards is sanctioned by the North American Brewers Association and takes place in Idaho Falls, Idaho in conjunction with the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest. It is a unique industry competition that judges the best beers in the country by style guidelines. The event is conducted as a single blind sampling followed by rank ordering of the entries within a style category.
“I am so happy with the results of this year’s North American Beer Awards” said Darron Welch, Brewmaster of Pelican Brewing Company. “It really illustrates our dedication to exploring the wide range of flavor in the world of beer. These awards are the result of the entire Pelican team’s commitment to creativity, craftsmanship and consistent quality.”
