A New Look for Pikes Peak Brewing Co.
On June 11, Pikes Peak Brewing Co unveiled a whole new brand. Along with the 150% expansion in brewing capacity completed late last year, this new look will make it possible to get more Pikes Peak Beer to the craft brew loving community in Southern Colorado. “We’re lucky to be at the source of some the country’s finest ingredients. From our abundant grains and fresh hops to our pristine waters, we’re inspired by our landscape to make beer as solid and iconic as our namesake mountain”, says founder and head brewer, Chris Wright. “We wanted a classic look that really tells the story of our brewery and each of our full flavored beers”. With the help of Westwerk, a design firm out of Minneapolis, PPBC has done just that. The new logo conjures up memories of the signs welcoming us to Colorado’s abundant National Forests. The designs for the six flagship brews feature hand drawn illustrations representing the inspiration for each of the beer’s names, as well as an icon system to help PPBC beer lovers easily identify their favorite brew whether it is being poured from a tap at their favorite watering hole, or chilling in the cooler at their local liquor store.
PPBC Beer available in cans and 750ml bottles this summer
Pikes Peak Brewing Co. is gearing up to be the only active brewery in the Pikes Peak Region to can their handcrafted beers.
“We expanded our brewing capacity early in 2013 to meet demand and accomplish our goal of doubling our output so that we can get the Pikes Peak brand out there in the Colorado Springs area,“ says Wright. “ We decided on cans because they are better for the beer, lighter and can be taken to more places than bottles. We plan to produce at least 240 Barrels worth of cans (or close to 60,000 cans) through the remainder of 2013. ”
Elephant Rock IPA, a bold India Pale Ale with a resinous pine and bright citrus profile, will be the first beer to go into 16-ounce cans in late June 2013. PPBC will follow up later in the summer with the fiery colored Devil’s Head Red, a red ale made with a malt blend providing a smooth palate of caramel, toffee and toast.
4 packs of 16-ounce cans will be available for sale in our Monument, Colorado taproom, as well as at select liquor stores around the Pikes Peak Region.
Pikes Peak Brewing Co. is also very pleased to announce the new rare barrel aged beer series, Penrose Private Reserve. The name was inspired by Spencer “Speck” Penrose and his stash of fine wine and spirits, which he hid under the swimming pool at the Broadmoor Hotel during Prohibition. The first in the series, No. 1302 is a rich Belgian-inspired ale, aged in an oak Chardonnay barrels. Penrose Private Reserve beers will be available in 750ml bottles at the brewery starting June 11, and in local liquor stores shortly thereafter.
Pikes Peak Brewing Co. is an award-winning brewery in Monument, Colorado, dedicated to elevating the craft of beer. Our beers are full-flavored renditions of classic styles that are best enjoyed in the company of good friends. For more, visit PikesPeakBrewing.com
