Pleasant House Brewing Company, a microbrewery in Three Oaks, Michigan, will debut two whiskey-barrel-aged beers in its taproom on Saturday, March 15.
With a strong focus on small-batch, traditional UK-style beers, Pleasant House Brewing Company has aged its newest releases in Buggy Whip Wheat Whiskey barrels from Journeyman Distillery, the microbrewery’s neighbor in Three Oaks. The two beers are an English barleywine and a foreign extra stout. Journeyman will be offering a hops-infused cocktail on the same day.
Pleasant House Brewing Company opened in July 2013. The Journeyman releases are the first barrel-aged beers for the brewery, whose flagships include Ol’ Codg (ESB), Doctor Moxon (dry stout), and Snobbler (nut brown ale). In April 2014, Pleasant House Brewing Company will debut a whiskey-barrel-aged edition of its Colonel Lemon McBiscuit, a double-Citra amber lager brewed with Pilsner, Munich, and Caramunich malts. Priority tastings will be offered to members of the Imperial Pint Society, the brewery’s mug club.
