Aberdeen, NC–Big plans are brewing at Railhouse Brewery (railhousebrewery.com) stemming from enormous growth over the past year. Railhouse, which celebrated its third anniversary December of 2013, has experienced a 216% sales growth over 2012.
While the brewery sold only 360 barrels in its first year of operation, Railhouse is on track to hit 2,000 barrels by the end of the year, equaling a 140% sales growth for 2014.
In the past six months, the brewery has purchased three additional fermentation and conditioning tanks, with plans to add another three by September of this year.
The new labeler and bottling line, replacing a much smaller system, went into operation in January. This will allow the brewery to produce five times more bottles than in 2013. Railhouse also revamped its bottle labels, which hit store shelves in January, with newly designed six-pack holders entering the market in March.
Railhouse hopes to continue growth of 40% to 50% annually as it expands into additional Eastern states. Currently Railhouse distributes throughout North and South Carolina. The brewery plans to enter into the Virginia and Georgia markets by July of this year.
Brian Evitts, co-owner and brewmaster said, “We’re currently researching and reaching out to distributors in Virginia and Georgia looking for the right fit. We’ve been successful in the Carolinas, and we’re looking forward to expanding into additional states.” Railhouse’s 2015 plan includes expansion into Tennessee and Florida.
