Simultaneous Brew Returns: Five Colorado Breweries To Craft Simultaneous Black for Collaboration Fest

Share Post

COLORADO — The Simultaneous Collaboration Brew, first executed for the 2014 Colorado Brewers Rendezvous, is back for Collaboration Fest. Beginning at 8 a.m. mountain standard time on Wednesday, February 25, five Colorado breweries will brew the Simultaneous Black Ale at their respective locations. They’ll unite their efforts via social media with the hashtag #SimultaneousBrew

Each brewery will brew the same Simultaneous Black with dark malts and Simcoe, Cascade, and Amarillo hops. The recipe also includes honey from BeeYond the Hive, Colorado’s oldest beekeeping operation, in Salida. After the basic recipe is brewed, each brewery can add their own twist to make it theirs.

Participating in the Simultaneous Black Collaboration Brew are Strange Craft Beer Company in Denver, Echo Brewing Company in Frederick, Pikes Peak Brewing Co. in Monument, Very Nice Brewing Company in Nederland, and Kannah Creek Brewing Company in Grand Junction.

“Simultaneous is an opportunity for breweries from different areas to collaborate on a beer without traveling cross town or state,” says Strange Craft owner Tim Myers. Simultaneous Brew is the brainchild of Myers, who spent the last week delivering ingredients to fellow brewers for this beer.

Tune in on Facebook and Twitter at 8 a.m. mountain standard time on Wednesday, February 25 to connect with the Simultaneous Collaboration Brew, where each brewery will be posting photos and videos of their progress. Use the hashtag #SimultaneousBrew to join the conversation.

All five of the Simultaneous Black Ales will be on tap at the second annual Collaboration Fest at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. For more information about the festival, visit collaborationfest.com.
