2016 Craft Beer Summer Seasonals

2016 Craft Beer Summer Seasonals

With less than a month until the official first day of summer, the days are getting longer and the countdown to your annual beach vacation has begun (hopefully to one of these beer-y beach towns). America’s craft brewers want to make sure you have the perfect beer to accompany all of your summer activities, and you’ll notice their creations hitting shelves and draft towers near you in the upcoming weeks.

Most of the summer seasonals featured in this list are lighter in body and aim to be refreshing and more sessionable. You may notice the frequent use of fruit, especially citrus, in some of these selections. Not only is summer the peak season for a lot of fruits, but the lighter beer styles associated with summer also lend themselves nicely to highlighting fruit flavors, rather than overpowering their subtlety.

“Small and independent craft brewers continue to lead when it comes to releasing some truly rewarding summer seasonals,” said Julia Herz, publisher of CraftBeer.com. “These beers are as versatile to pair with good times outside as with what’s on the summer menu at your local restaurant and at home.”

To celebrate these special seasonal beers, we asked Brewers Association member breweries to share their latest releases. Here’s what they told us:
