(LONGMONT, CO) – Celebrating the rich cultural diversity in our community, Left Hand Brewing Company is proud to announce the return of Culture Jam! Colorado’s hottest music festival will bring the musical talents of 3 time Grammy-Award winning Ozomatli to the Longmont stage! Culture Jam promises to be hot, sweaty, and a celebration for all, bringing Colorado together for a family-friendly evening of world class music and the arts to benefit Intercambio Uniting Communities and Longmont YMCA.
Join us for a summer evening at the brewery, as we jam out to the colorful music of world renowned band, Ozomatli. In their nineteen years together as a band, celebrated Los Angeles culture-mashers Ozomatli have gone from hometown heroes to being named U.S. State Department Cultural Ambassadors. Their music is notorious for its multi-cultural LA inspired sound: “an urban Latino collision of hip hop and salsa, dancehall and cumbia, samba and funk, merengue and comparsa, East LAR&B and New Orleans second line, Jamaican ragga, and Indian raga.” The music of Ozomatli will take you around the world and back … right here in Colorado against the brewery skyline alongside the bubbling St. Vrain River.
Warming up the stage for Ozomatli, Making Movies is an Afro-Latino roots band out of Kansas City fresh off tours with Los Lobos and Arcade fire. Boulder’s own Brazilian Samba Crew, Batería Alegría and Fiesta Colorado, the traditional Folklorico dance group will get the party started.
Throughout the evening, renowned Longmont graffiti artist Gamma Acosta will be creating a live work of art, available for auction with all proceeds donated to the event beneficiaries. Local food vendors and of course, Left Hand craft beer will be available as well as the YMCA Kids Zone for fans of all ages.Culture Jam is brought to you in partnership with Times Call / Daily Camera, Colorado Business Bank, KGNU, Telemundo, & Que Bueno! For those who love great music, craft beer, and community love – don’t miss Culture Jam 2014!
