The craft beer festival takes over the resort Aug. 28-30.

If craft beer is your passion, Mandalay Bay has just the festival for you. Craft beer mania takes over the resort Aug. 28-30 with the Las Vegas Beer and Barrel Project.

The three-day even includes the Mandalay Beach Craft Beer and Barrel Festival from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, with dozens of spirits and craft beer barrel stations and dishes by Mandalay Bay chefs for $75.

Sarah Johnson, the resort’s director of food and beverage and Nevada’s first female certified cicerone, hosts the entire event.

The festival kicks off on Friday, Aug. 28, with a VIP reception and Pop-Up Pub Experience at Shanghai Lilly. Food and beer pairings, live music and conversation with guest brewers, distillers, chefs and industry VIPs are included with the event.

Then on Saturday, Aug. 29, seminars and panel discussions cover topics such as “Beer Got Your Tongue” with brew master Jared Rouben of Moody Tongue Brewing Co.; “Sour Beers” with Patrick Rue of The Bruery and Jonathan Buford of Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co.; “State of The Industry” with Matt Brynildson of Firestone Walker Brewing Co., Paul Gatza of the Brewers Association and Nikos Ridge of Ninkasi Brewing Co.; and “Beer Cocktails” with Wirtz Beverage experts Andrew Pollard and Michael Shetler. Admission for all four seminars is $99 per person.

The event ends on Sunday, Aug. 30, with Beer for Breakfast at Fleur by Hubert Keller. Family-style pastries, entrées, family-style desserts and beer pairings highlight this event with tickets for $50 per person.
