Thirsty Monk locations in Downtown Asheville, Biltmore Park and Reynolds Village will feature nearly 100 of North Carolina’s best beers on tap.
ASHEVILLE, NC – April is NC Beer Month and the Thirsty Monk, a leader in Asheville’s beer scene and increasingly recognized regional and national beer destination, is excited to kick off the festivities on Thursday, April 2nd with a North Carolina Tap Takeover at all locations.
With more breweries than any other Southern state, North Carolina’s ‘Beer Renaissance’ is in full swing, with Asheville among those leading the way in creativity, innovation and number of breweries per capita. In celebration of NC Beer Month, Thirsty Monk will not only feature breweries based in Western North Carolina, but also travel across the Foothills, Piedmont and Eastern Carolina to feature a variety of styles from our state-wide neighbors.
“North Carolina is making a name as a destination for craft beer lovers, both nation-wide and internationally, and we want to highlight the many breweries who are making their mark on the industry,” says Monk Vice President, Chall Gray. “It’s quite remarkable, the acclaim and attention that our beer community has garnered. We’re really excited to kick off this month-long celebration with this great event.”
The event will feature dozens of breweries, including several that aren’t typically available in Asheville. There will be something for everyone as well, with styles represented including everything from stouts to double IPAs, ciders, sours, pilsners, Belgians and many more.
Breweries to look out for include BirdSong, Pisgah, Burial, Fonta Flora, Highland, Asheville Brewing, Catawba, Sierra Nevada, Foothills, Oskar Blues, Mother Earth, Haw River Ales, NoDa, Highland, Innovation, Hi-Wire, Twin Leaf, and many more.
